Here’s a wonderful list of great lines from picture books. For your first contributions to the blog, I’d like you to consider adding your own.
Here’s one of my favorites:
“And Max the king of the wild things was lonely and wanted to be where someone loved him best of all.
Then all around from far away across the world he smelled good things to eat so he gave up being king of where the wild things are.”
But, really, almost any line from Where the Wild Things Are will do. Here’s one from another favorite–do you recognize it?
“‘Now my dears,’ said old Mrs. Rabbit one morning, ‘you may go into the fields or down the lane, but don’t go into Mr. McGregor’s garden: your Father had an accident there; he was put in a pie by Mrs. McGregor.'”
I know, that one’s a little bloodthirsty, but there’s something very satisfying about it as well, isn’t there?
Add yours in the comments, whether they are from the books you checked out or others you remember…
